Want to try something other than classic pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella? Then give this pizza bianca with butternut squash a shot.
The combination of salty feta, bitter walnuts, fragrant sage and sweet honey works wonderfully together and is definitely a taste experience you shouldn't deny yourself.
Ingredients
For four pizzas
- 1 portion of pizza dough ready for filling
- 200 g mascarpone
- ½ butternut squash
- 200 g feta
- A bunch of sage
- 2 tbsp honey
- 60 g roasted walnut kernels
- Freshly ground pepper
- Salt
How to make it
Peel the butternut squash and cut it into thin slices.
Spread the mascarpone on the pizza base, layer the butternut squash slices on top and sprinkle with salt.
Bake the pizza on a baking steel until the base is crispy and has brown spots on the edge.
Crumble feta over the pizza. Distribute the walnut kernels and sage on top and finish with a few thin drizzles of honey in circles.
Grind fresh pepper over the pizza and serve.
